BLOCK PRINTING AND TAGGING
“What foam quality is that? Are you sure this block is ours? How many mistakes, how many headaches with the customers we could have avoided if we had marked our blocks...”
A product mark is a unique identifier assigned to each manufactured item. Today, most manufactured products require some type of identifying code, mark or tag to keep track of inventory or simply to identify an asset. Sounds simple but it can be challenging: What needs to be marked, coded or tagged? Where should the code, mark or tag be applied? When does the code, mark, or tag need to be added?
Block identification is a useful tool at a polyurethane foam factory to manage the stock, for product traceability and to inform the customer about the origin and the characteristics of the foam that he purchased. From the most traditional options to the most modern systems, IPF offers different possibilities to mark the manufactured short or long foam blocks: basic data, bar code or QR code printing is available to track each block along its movement in the factory. Ink printing is one of the most usual solutions in the foam market. Different sizes printing heads and quick cooling inks allow a good marking process of foam blocks.

Automatic foam block printing or tagging can be carried out on the block side or front surface, depending of the process stage where printer needs to be installed. Data to be printed can be managed individually or integrated in complete control system. We can also connect the printing system to the factory internal network to share all blocks’ information.
IPF offers several options to set or improve foam block identification and tracking process depending on your specific needs. IPF team is widely experienced to help you in this analysis to choose of the most appropriate solution for your foam identification process.
